Introduction to Centre-based Nursing
Centre Based Nursing provides basic nursing care for seniors.
Services Provided
The services may include:
Tracheostomy care and dressing
Care of nephrostomy tube and dressing
Post-procedural medication administration, as ordered by medical personnel
Only applicable for patients who are not already enrolled in the centre’s day care programmes, and are living alone or unable to take medication on their own
Insertion of nasogastric tube
Wound management
Stoma care – colostomy and ileostomy care
Assistance with bowel elimination
E.g. enema or insertion of suppositories, as ordered by a Singapore Medical Council-registered medical practitioner
Post-surgical wound management
Care of Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) tube and dressing
Urinary catheter care and change of female urinary catheters
How to Apply
Please approach the doctor at the hospital or polyclinic that your loved one visits for assistance to submit an online application for the service. Alternatively, you may visit an AIC Link near you for assistance on the application process.
The estimated cost ranges between $25 and $32. You can apply for subsidies, and the received amount varies depending on your family’s income.
