Care Facilities For Mental Health

There are various types of facilities that serve clients with mental health conditions, residential or day centres. For the latest list of mental health services and facilities visit the E-care Locator.

Day Care Services

Psychiatric Day Care centres provide structured rehabilitation programmes on vocational and psychosocial support. Clients in recovery are equipped with skills to perform tasks in a work-simulated environment to help you realise their potential and re-integrate into the community.

Service providers include Club HEAL, Singapore Association for Mental Health – Oasis Day Centre and Anglican Care Centres.

Above: Rehabilitation workshops and social enterprises teach clients life skills and create employment opportunities for them.
Psychiatric Homes

There are Psychiatric Rehabilitation Homes, Sheltered Homes and Nursing Homes. Psychiatric Rehabilitation Homes provides a period of residential-based rehabilitation for clients with stabilised mental health conditions, as you prepare for community reintegration. Service Providers include Singapore Association for Mental Health – Bukit Gombak Group Homes.

The Anglican Care Centre (Farrer Park) runs the Psychiatric Group Home which provides temporary accommodation and low-level care (such as emotional support) for clients who are ready and preparing to integrate back into the community. The Psychiatric Nursing Homes provide stay-in care for clients who need nursing and medical care. Service Providers include St Andrew’s Nursing Home, Sunlove Home, Surya Home and XiSer Careserve.

Reintegration

For people with mental health conditions, being able to return to work is one of the aspects of their recovery. There are various services to facilitate re-integration back into the society via employment support. Vocational training can serve as rehabilitation for clients in recovery prior to seeking competitive employment in the community. Some service providers also provide training, job matching and placement services.

Service providers include IMH OcTAVE Outpatient Rehabilitation Centre, Job Club, MINDSET Learning Hub by Singapore Association for Mental Health and Employment Support Services by Singapore Anglican Community Services.
