Why
Job Redesign requires collaboration from various stakeholders to be successful. Different people will also be impacted in various ways, so it is important to engage with them and secure buy-in early.
How
Use the Stakeholder Mapping Template to plan your engagement with various stakeholders:
- Identify groups directly impacted (e.g. incumbents to new roles) and directly involved (e.g. supervisors to the incumbents, IT personnel supporting roll-out of system improvements)
- Categorise these stakeholders depending on their level of influence on the project and the impact of the change on them
- Develop a communication plan and materials that outline the key messages to be conveyed to each group and the recommended mode of communication
- Cascade the communication plan, with the relevant materials, to those supporting the sharing of key messages
Quick Tip:
- Conduct monthly check-ins with Project Team to review progress against the implementation plan, ensuring timely resolution of implementation roadblocks.
- Leverage change champions to drive change efforts and communicate with impacted job holders. They can help to gather on-the-ground feedback and inform further change management efforts.
- Consider tailoring this Master Briefing Pack to share more about the new roles with other teams, showcasing how they may interact and support each other as the new roles integrate into the existing team.
