In partnership with AIC Quality Division, the AIC Learning Network has curated 3 courses to equip the various appointment holders with the necessary knowledge to allow you to fulfil your responsibilities. Quality Assurance for Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) Supervisors (Intermediate)

This programme will provide you with the concepts and applications to perform the roles and responsibilities of a QAC Supervisor for a Nursing Home (or equivalent). The roles and responsibilities of a QAC Supervisor include:

  • To monitor, evaluate and review resident safety and clinical quality issues in nursing homes.
  • To devise and maintain a quality assurance programme for the purposes of evaluating and monitoring:
    • the quality and clinical appropriateness of the nursing home service provided to residents; and
    • the procedures and practices of the licensee in relation to the provision of the nursing home service
  • To identify and evaluate any safety incidents to assess if the quality of the service provided is acceptable.
  • To identify, develop and monitor the implementation of solutions to rectify and prevent safety incidents from recurring.
  • To make recommendations to the licensee to improve the quality of the nursing home service.
  • To ensure that any directives issued by Director Medical Services in relation to quality assurance activities are complied with.

Clinical Governance for Clinical Governance Officers (CGOs)

This programme will provide you with the concepts and applications to perform the roles and responsibilities of a CGO for a Nursing Home (or equivalent). The roles and responsibilities of a CGO include:

  • Oversight of the planning, development, co-ordination, and evaluation of the Nursing Home service.
  • Maintenance of oversight over Healthcare Professionals (nurses, doctors, allied health professionals) and ensures care delivered is in accordance with standards and based on best-evidence available.
  • Ensuring safe and quality care.
  • Ensuring appropriate skills mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services.

Participants must attend the Quality Assurance for QAC Supervisors course before attending this course.
