Enhancement for Active Seniors (EASE)
Subsidises improvements to make your home safe for seniors.

Introduction
Enhancement for Active Seniors (EASE) subsidises the cost of home modifications to make it safer for seniors to move around at home. It was introduced by the Housing and Development Board (HDB) in 2012.
Examples of home modifications subsidised by EASE includes:
- Slip-resistant treatment to flooring in bathrooms and toilets
- Grab bars in the flat
- Installing ramps in the flat or main entrance
- Widening of toilet/ bathroom entrance

How to qualify
You must be a Singaporean HDB flat owner or registered tenant, with a family member living with you who is:
- 65 years and older
Or

Between the ages of 60 and 64 and needs help with at least one of the six activities of daily living. The six activities are:

Your loved one must undergo a disability assessment as part of the application.
- This must be done by a General Practitioner (GP) or an approved healthcare professional using a Functional Assessment Report (FAR).
- You will need to pay the assessment fee, if any. The cost may vary so please check with your healthcare professional.

The FAR assesses a person’s need for assistance with the activities of daily living.
Approved FAR assessors include:
• Doctors who are under full or conditional registration with the Singapore Medical Council and possess the necessary licence(s). This includes the doctor or the doctor’s organisation holding the relevant and valid Healthcare Services Act (HCSA) licence(s).
• Registered nurses who are under full or conditional registration with the Singapore Nursing Board.
• Physiotherapists who are under full, conditional or restricted registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (“AHPC”).
• Occupational therapists who are under full, conditional or restricted (restricted scope classification - “Physical dysfunction / Adults and older adults” only) registration with AHPC.
If the person who needs assessment is below the age of 8, he/ she must be assessed by a paediatrician.
