About Age Well Kakis
The Age Well Kakis (AWK) programme is a new initiative supported by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and AIC to encourage seniors aged 50 and above to give back to the community through meaningful volunteer opportunities.
Towards that goal, AWK supports partners to design and offer community opportunities for seniors to participate and contribute in, starting with the Community Care sector and neighbourhood spaces.
AWK will run from 1 Aug 2026 to 31 Jul 2028.
Programme eligibility
Service providers who operate MOH-funded Active Ageing Centres (AACs) and/ or Community Care services are eligible to apply for AWK.
Examples of these services include, but are not limited to:
- Meals on Wheels (MOW)
- Medical Escort & Transport (MET)
- Day Care
- Nursing Home
- Inpatient Hospice Palliative Care Service (IHPCS)
- Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Re-integration services
- Day Hospice Care
- Dialysis centres
Programme funding
You can choose to apply for AWK funding as an AAC and/ or a Community Care organisation.
If you are applying as a Community Care organisation, only your service lines which are MOH-funded are eligible to be funded under AWK.

Community opportunities & contributions
Community opportunities are tasks that seniors can easily complete based on their interests, abilities, and availability.
Seniors should be able to complete these tasks within a reasonable duration of time, and each community opportunity must take a minimum of 1 hour to complete.
They should be done within centres, service settings, or nearby community spaces. Examples of such community opportunities can include, but not limited to:
- Event support: Setting up rooms, registration, ushering, guiding participants, etc.
- Activity support: Helping with group activities or supporting peers, supporting active ageing programmes, etc.
- Support the MOW service by assisting with delivery of meals to other seniors.
- Supporting the MET service through coordination or accompanying other seniors during medical appointments
Support inpatient care by assisting with supporting laundry and/ or kitchen operations, engaging residents socially, etc.
As a guideline, AIC suggests that approximately 1 hour spent on a community opportunity is equivalent to 1 contribution.
As an AWK partner, you can decide how many contributions each community opportunity completed by the senior is worth, depending on the duration and intensity of the task.
How to apply
You may apply via activeageing@aic.sg The grant applications will be processed in four batches. The funding period is shown below based on the application timeline.
During the application stage, you will need to indicate the number and names of AACs and/ or Community Care service lines you are applying for.

*Applicants from Batch 1 can only claim from 1 Jan 2027 for work done from ‘project commencement date’ stated on the IPA.
