Community Rehabilitation Centres provide therapy, which is important for an elderly with heart disease, or who had a stroke, fracture or other condition that affected his ability to do everyday things like walking around or going to the bathroom. It can help him regain his abilities and make a full recovery.
The centres may offer services including:
Assessing and treating problems with movement because of disability, trauma or illness, such as learning how to walk again after a stroke
Assessing and treating of swallowing and speech disorders, due to stroke or dysphasia.
A doctor’s referral is needed to show that your loved one needs this therapy.
The estimated cost ranges between $70 and $102 per rehabilitation session before subsidy, and excludes transport services.
