​​​​​​​Introduction to the Medical Fee Exemption Card

Your loved one can be covered for standard medical and hospitalisation treatment at government or restructured hospitals, polyclinics and approved intermediate and long-term care services if they are sick and need financial assistance, using the Medical Fee Exemption Card.​


​​​​​​​​​How to Apply

Approach a medical social worker at the institution your loved one is staying in. The medical social worker will apply for the card for them.

You should approach a medical social worker at the institution you are staying in. The medical social worker will help you with the application, including getting an application form and collecting the documents you need to apply for this card.
If your application is successful, within fifteen (15) working days of your application being approved, the card will be mailed to the institution you are staying in. If you are rejected, the institution you are staying in will be informed. 
Yes. It is valid for three years from the time you applied for it. You must submit a renewal application three months before its expiry date.​​
